90-Day Return to Base (RTB) Warranty Policy
Last Updated: 2026
At Deeptechcomputers, we stand behind the quality of our preowned computers. All preowned laptops, desktops, and related hardware sold on our store come with a 90-day Return to Base (RTB) warranty from the date of delivery, unless otherwise stated on the product page.
What is Return to Base (RTB) Warranty?
-
RTB means the customer is responsible for safely returning the faulty item to our base (warehouse) at their own cost.
- We will inspect the item upon receipt. If the fault is covered under this warranty, we will repair or replace the item (at our discretion) and return it to you at our expense.
- This is a limited hardware warranty only.
What is Covered?
This 90-day warranty covers manufacturing defects or hardware failures that occur under normal use, including issues with:
- Motherboard, CPU, RAM, storage (SSD/HDD), graphics, display, keyboard, trackpad, ports, battery (where applicable), and other core internal components.
- The computer not powering on or failing to boot properly due to a covered hardware fault.
We test all preowned computers thoroughly before sale, but as refurbished/preowned items, they may show signs of previous use.
What is NOT Covered?
This warranty does not cover:
- Cosmetic damage, scratches, dents, or wear and tear consistent with preowned condition.
- Damage caused by accident, misuse, liquid spill, dropping, unauthorised modification, or improper handling.
- Software issues, viruses, operating system problems, or data loss.
- Normal degradation of battery life or consumable parts.
- Faults that were clearly described on the product listing (e.g., "Grade B – minor cosmetic marks").
- Any damage caused during customer return shipping (ensure proper packaging and insurance).
- Issues arising from installation of incompatible or third-party parts.
How to Make a Warranty Claim
- Contact our support team within the 90-day period via email. Provide your order number, a clear description of the fault, and supporting photos/videos if possible.
- We will assess the claim and, if approved, issue a Return Merchandise Authorisation (RMA) number.
- Pack the item securely in its original packaging (or equivalent protective packaging) and include all accessories that came with it where relevant. Clearly mark the RMA number on the package.
- Ship the item back to us at your expense using a tracked and insured courier service. We recommend keeping proof of postage.
- Our address for returns: [Your Full Business Name][Your Warehouse Address, UK] (Please do not ship to a residential address.)
Once we receive and inspect the item:
- If the fault is covered, we will repair or replace it (with a functionally equivalent preowned unit of the same or better specification if exact replacement is unavailable).
- We aim to process valid claims within 7–14 working days of receipt.
- The repaired or replaced item will carry the remaining balance of the original 90-day warranty.
Important Notes
- This warranty is in addition to your statutory rights under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015. You have a legal right to a refund, repair, or replacement if goods are faulty, not as described, or not of satisfactory quality. Preowned items are not expected to be in "as new" condition, but any undisclosed faults are covered by law.
- For the first 30 days after delivery, you may also be entitled to a full refund under the short-term right to reject (in addition to this warranty).
- For online/distance sales, you have a separate 14-day cooling-off period to return items for any reason (change of mind), subject to our standard returns policy. This is separate from the warranty.
- We reserve the right to refuse a claim if the item shows signs of tampering, unauthorised repair, or if the fault is not covered.
Refunds vs Repairs/Replacements
- Within the first 30 days: Full refund option may be available for qualifying faults.
- After 30 days (up to 90 days): We primarily offer repair or replacement. Refunds after 30 days are at our discretion and may be subject to a deduction for usage if applicable (in line with consumer law).
Exclusions and Limitations
This warranty does not affect your statutory consumer rights. However, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss (e.g., data loss, business interruption).
If you have any questions about this policy, please contact us before purchasing.
